CLWYD CHRISTMAS CAROL COMPETITION

Calling all Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units!

This is your chance to write a new carol. Why not revitalise an old, traditional carol such as ‘Away in a manger’ or ‘We three kings’ with your own words? They can reflect the religious side of Christmas or, like Slades ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’, describe the different side to Christmas…even Mummy kissing Santa Claus!

You may, or may not be aware, that Gary Barlow of Take That fame earned his first TV appearance from entering a carol competition and he came second!

Unfortunately I can’t get the winners a spot on X factor, but the winning entries will be recorded by a Brownie/Guide/SS choir and copies made for the winning units.

A prize will also be presented to the winning units of each section.

To enter your new lyrics to a traditional carol, simply send a copy or manuscript via e-mail or by post. Alternatively if your unit would prefer to record their original or re-written carol, please send media/sound files via e-mail, mobile phone or disc.

All contact details can be found below.

The closing date for all entries is;

Saturday December the 10th 2011.
